Solon Ohio Art

Solon is close to the action of the Cleveland metropolitan area, yet maintains a close sense of community. We have once again asked Avant Garde Art & Craft Shows to host a handmade pop-up market as part of this year's festivities. The event stretches from the Solon Center for the Arts to the City Hall, where you will find a variety of art, music, food, craftsmen, vendors and more. On the steps of the Town Hall and in front of the Town Hall, an artisan market is organized, where artists and artisans sell their original goods.

Solon has a particularly vibrant art scene and the centre offers a programme for seniors entitled "Creatively aging through the arts," which serves as a gateway to a variety of arts and crafts courses and workshops. The Solon Center for the Arts also offers a Just4Kids program for those who are just starting to try their hand at teaching. Maria graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Art from the University of Ohio and a Master of Arts degree in Art from Ohio State.

Ms. Sanford offers individual training in the form of small group mat courses as well as individual and group courses. She soon earned the Mat Machine Certification from LPT Inc. and now offers her courses at the Solon Center for the Arts as part of her training program.

She said that in addition to continuing to look after the cultural centre, she would also work hand in hand with the leisure department. She will continue to lead Solon's Recreation and Parks Division, a position she has held since December 2014.

The Solon Center for the Arts is located in the historic Old Town Hall, which has served as a school, library, police and fire station over the years. The beautiful Georgian-style building, also known as the Old Town Hall, offers a charming atmosphere. Many of the museum's pieces include paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, prints and other artworks from around the world.

Cleveland Metroparks offers a variety of activities and programs, including hiking, biking, canoeing, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and more.
